Organic Agriculture

The term organic defines a product obtained by agricultural practices or farming without the use of chemicals, observing the natural balance of the product. You must not utilize any kind of chemical or artificial additives (pesticides, fertilizers chemicals, herbicides) or genetically modified seeds.

The healthy soil is the starting point for organic production:  plant growth is supported solely by the use of organic products ( manure , compost) or appropriate traditional culture techniques ( crop rotation ) , and the use of natural defense mechanisms (sulfur, copper, insect antagonists) as to interact in a natural way on the production.

Compared to these practices , the Agricultural Company Maiorano  fully respects the idea of an agricultural company and is constantly monitored by the certificated control body “ Soil and Health”.

In fact, olive growing and podolic breeding is organic and is part of the slow food because its production is fully immersed starting from fertilization, to maintenance and pruning. This is not only  a necessity of the company but it is an opportunity to maintain a high level of production, to contribute to the maintenance and embellishment both of their own land and  of the surrounding one, also reducing the risk of fire.
